From sandy beaches, granite-lined rocky coastline, deciduous forests and ancient mountains, the Northeast of the United States features a beautiful variety of landscapes and ecosystems to occupy one for a lifetime.  Although the first area settled by colonizers, this region still beholds much beauty, evidence of it's historical abundance of land and sea. In places, rivers flow from glacially-polished mountains thru forests and farmlands to salty coastal fishing villages.
